What are Freemasons?
Freemasonry is one of the world's most historic membership organizations—a 300-year-old worldwide fraternity of like-minded men committed to bettering themselves and their communities. Rooted in Gold Rush heritage since 1853, Hiram Lodge #25 F&AM brings timeless traditions into modern California life through true fellowship, character building, and community service.
Building character and lifelong friendships
Where ancient stonemasons cut and shaped physical stone, modern Freemasons focus on building upright character. Through moral teachings based on allegory and timeless tools of craftsmanship, Masonry offers an environment where men develop their highest potential while forming lifelong friendships rooted in mutual support and integrity.
Our members: the true heart of the craft
A common myth is that Freemasonry is defined by secret ceremonies or hidden agendas. In truth, our greatest strength is simply our members. We come from all walks of life, cultural backgrounds, and professions, with new members joining around age 36 on average. We stand united by a shared commitment to brotherly love, truth, and community service.
Masonry inside and outside the lodge
While stated meetings and degree work take place inside the hall, the real spirit of Masonry thrives in daily life. From morning coffee gatherings, golf outings, and weekend barbecues to mentoring young people and volunteering for local charities, our brotherhood is active throughout Rancho Cordova and El Dorado County.
"Join us for dinner on the first Friday of every month at 6:30 pm to meet the brethren and experience our community firsthand."
